hetpaleis is a large performing arts house for children and young people in the heart of Antwerp, a place where people and stories meet. hetpaleis organizes both public and school performances, workshops, talks, etc., reaching a wide and diverse audience.

The technical team of hetpaleis is divided into a “creation team” and a “house team”. The creation team is fully committed to the four major theater productions for the main auditorium. The house team focuses on extensive receptive operation (set-up, tear-down and live operation of light, sound or video) and theatrical maintenance. To provide additional support to both teams in the coming season, we are looking for a multi-purpose stage technician.

- You have a theater technology degree and/or experience in a professional theater technology environment. 
- You are versatile and have an interest in all sub aspects of stage technology. 
- You work smoothly and safely.
- You can work as part of a team but can also work on your own.
- You are energetic, driven and communicate appropriately and efficiently.
- You have a feel for the workings of a (youth) theater or are willing to get acquainted with that context.
- You are comfortable with flexible working hours. Evening and weekend work are obvious in this job.
- You have a driving licence B.

The following skills are not a must, but are a plus:

- A distinct specialisation or passion for sound/light/video
- Knowledge of digital networks (such as: Dante, sACN or ART-NET)
- Experience operating light or sound tables during performances
- Experience with rigging
- A C driving licence
