8.2
The center of focus of this contemporary dance performance is rap music in all its forms: the
rhythm, the flow, the statements and gestures and the history of the grandmasters all the
way through to Kendrick Lamar. Eight young dancers come to terms with a musical style that
has survived generations and transcended trends by re-inventing itself time and time again.
Choreographer and dancer Radouan Mriziga, who was born in Morocco in 1985, studied
dance in Tunisia and then furthered his art at the P.A.R.T.S contemporary dance school in
Brussels. His work is supported by the Moussem Nomadic Arts Centre and the Kaaitheater,
as artist in residence, Radouan sought inspiration from an old love for his youth-oriented 8.2
show: rap.
