For a quarter of a century now, Abattoir Fermé has been a storyteller par excellence. Bold and fearless, instantly recognisable and eternally unique. Abattoir Fermé alternates between wordless, visual creations and musical theatre, spoken theatre, youth theatre, opera, adaptations of the world repertoire, and so on. The company also regularly ventures beyond the theatre into areas such as film, television, exhibitions, publications, music videos and concerts. Both in its theatre work and in its side projects, recurring themes include ‘the world behind the familiar’, physicality, rituals, existential fears and dark fantasies.
