hetgeluk

Happiness (‘geluk’ in Dutch) is something you can find in the far-flung corners of the city, but also simply in the bustling heart of Antwerp – on Theaterplein.

Do you already know the way to hetgeluk?

hetgeluk is the meeting place of hetpaleis. Stay and have a chat over a drink after a performance, or pop in after school for a quick bite to eat while your (grand)child either burns off excess energy by running around in our open foyer or winds down in our play, reading and drawing area.

opening hours

hetgeluk is always open from 1 hour before the performance until 2 hours after the performance.
On other days, these are the regular opening hours of hetgeluk:

  • Monday closed
  • Tuesday closed
  • Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:00
  • Thursday from 12:00 to 18:00
  • Friday from 12:00 to 20:00
  • Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00
  • Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00

The menu of hetgeluk has been carefully composed with a focus on local produce and tailored to suit everyone, from the very young to the very old. Here, for example, you can enjoy a cappuccino or a babyccino, or savour an all-day breakfast featuring, among others, a soft-boiled egg from a local farm.

What products do we use at hetgeluk?

BARÚ

At BARÚ, it’s all about little moments of happiness. Things that make your day better with every sip and hearty bite. Is there a better partner for hetgeluk? BARÚ works with local and social partners, keeps its supply chain as short as possible, and packages everything with care and a conscience. Because a moment of sweetness should also make the world a little better. Curious? Order a chai latte at hetgeluk.

Boer Olivier

The eggs of farmer Olivier come straight from the field, where mobile chicken coops are constantly being moved. As well as chicken feed, the hens forage for all sorts of insects, herbs and grasses. The result? Natural, healthy eggs with a rich, pure flavour.

De siroperie

Fancy a refreshing lemonade? De Siroperie produces artisanal syrups for homemade lemonades. Fully organic (and from Antwerp). Ideal for refreshing lemonades, unique mocktails, authentic cocktails and delicious hot drinks. All syrups are carefully produced using organic fair-trade raw cane sugar from Oxfam. Is your mouth already watering? Then order one of the delicious lemonades at hetgeluk.

Lints

Patisserie Lints, Antwerp’s best baker, provides us with weekend treats. Delicious fresh pastries on Sundays, tick!

Ohlait!

Delicious fresh milk in your coffee or hot chocolate. At Ohlait!, it’s all about fresh and tasty dairy products that make you happy. They bring back the taste of yesteryear. Their milk comes from a local farm. We heat the milk briefly to kill any harmful bacteria, but the full, creamy flavour is preserved. The result? Fresh milk with a delicious taste.

TipToh

For our oat milk, we work with TipToh. Two young Belgian entrepreneurs with a big mission: to make plant-based drinks even more sustainable. The oats are grown in Europe and production takes place here in Belgium. A short supply chain, a smaller carbon footprint and, above all, really tasty oat milk.
