Hendrik Kegels

Hendrik Kegels and Kim Karssen create theatre together for children and adults. Their work is exceptionally imaginative, at times absurd, and is characterised by a grotesque style of performance brimming with irreverent humour. Following their production KIER (a production by hetpaleis), they created the apocalyptic iconoclasm NIETES (a co-production with Theater Artemis and BRONKS). The production won a Zilveren Krekel for best youth theatre production at the Dutch Theatre Festival in 2023 and was nominated in the same year for the BNG Bank Theatre Prize – the premier theatre award for the best production by up-and-coming talent.

Hendrik is also part of PLANKTON, where he creates visual theatre together with Sonja van Ojen. At hetpaleis, he has presented, among others, Micro... de dingen komen in opstand and Er rent een berg voorbij (nominated for the BNG Bank Theatre Prize 2024).
