Het Zuidelijk Toneel

Het Zuidelijk Toneel is the theatre company of the south. Rooted in Brabant, based in Tilburg, with 70 years of history behind us and our sights firmly set on the future. We create performances for anyone who fancies a bit of fun, has a hunger for fiction and is open to fresh perspectives. What the F?! And what’s more, we’re future-proof, with care for people and the planet.

Everyone is welcome. Really, everyone. Whatever state or mood you’re in when you walk in. We want to captivate you, sweep you along, entice you, engage you, excite you and sometimes touch you gently (or deeply). With sharp-witted humour, powerful wordplay, virtuoso acting, new ideas and images that stick with you. We create performances that move you and continue to resonate long after the applause has died down.

Since 2025, we have been charting a new course with Sarah Moeremans as artistic director and a permanent ensemble of six performers. Together with them, a host of fearless creators and inspiring partners, we create a performance arena where actors can excel and anything goes. We perform in large and small venues, at festivals in the Netherlands and Flanders, and sometimes far beyond. In addition, every year we create a Brabant-based project with passionate amateur performers. Because theatre only truly comes alive when you share it.
