Kim Karssen

Kim Karssen and Hendrik Kegels create theatre together for children and adults. Their work is exceptionally imaginative, at times absurd, and is characterised by a grotesque style of performance brimming with irreverent humour. Following their production KIER (a production by hetpaleis), they created the apocalyptic iconoclasm NIETES (a co-production with Theater Artemis and BRONKS). The production won a Zilveren Krekel for best youth theatre production at the Dutch Theatre Festival in 2023 and was nominated for the BNG Bank Theatre Prize at the same festival. The theatre prize for best production by up-and-coming talent.

Since the 2022–2023 season, Kim has been affiliated with Frascati Productions as a creator, where she has created, among other things, We’re All Alone Together (nominated for the BNG Bank Theatre Prize 2024).
