Rachid Laachir

Rachid Laachir graduated in 2009 as a set and costume designer from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he received the award for emerging talent. He has designed sets for productions, including those by Troubleyn/Jan Fabre, Marijs Boulogne and Ballet Dommage. His designs were nominated for the Stella Prize for Best Set Design in 2018. In addition to his work as a designer, he also performs as an actor/performer in theatre and film productions. Laachir also creates his own theatre productions. His work explores the duality between human and natural worlds, and the evolution of humanity in relation to animality and nature.
