Stef Lernous

Stef Lernous is a Flemish actor and director. In 1999, he co-founded the Mechelen-based theatre company Abattoir Fermé with Tine Van den Wyngaert and Nick Kaldunski, and he remains its artistic director. The core team of Abattoir Fermé consists of Stef Lernous, Tine Van den Wyngaert, Chiel van Berkel, Kirsten Pieters, Maja Westerveld, Kreng, Steve Geerts, Nick Kaldunski, Maja Westerveld and Sven Van Kuijk.

From time to time, Lernous also ventures outside the theatre. For instance, he teaches, has directed operas, created a television programme and curated exhibitions, including Divine Decadence.

At Hetpaleis, Abattoir Fermé has previously staged Bangerik and Groezel of Grijsje, het levende radijsje.
