deprimeurs
hetpaleis loves young artists. That is precisely why, every season, we stage two graduation performances by theatre schools from Flanders and the Netherlands. Under the name of ‘deprimeurs’, theatre makers gain their first experience of creating and performing for a young audience, whilst receiving artistic and production support.

At hetpaleis, endless corridors open out into halls and rehearsal spaces. These are places where ideas are free to wander and grow. In addition to rehearsals for our own productions, we also make these spaces available free of charge to young artists whenever possible. With a bit of technical and artistic support, we help them get started. There are no barriers or selection criteria, other than a shared conviction: an inclusive vision of childhood in which every child counts.
