teaching materials
A visit to hetpaleis is not an outing like any other. It’s an opportunity to inspire your pupils, to amaze them and to encourage them to think and to reflect on the world. However, watching theatre is not a given for everyone. That’s why being properly prepared is important. Those who take a moment beforehand to consider the theme, the creator and the form of the performance will enter the auditorium with an open mind.
video on theatre codes
A theatre experience begins outside the theatre venue. Before every performance, we’ll send you an email containing a video explaining our theatre codes. Actor Joris Hessels uses animation to explain how a visit to the theatre unfolds and what the rules are. Ideal for watching in class, so that all pupils are well prepared and the theatre visit becomes an even more enjoyable experience.
SPOT - teaching material of hetpaleis
Are you coming to a performance at hetpaleis and wondering whether teaching materials are available? Check the web page of the relevant performance to see whether you can download teaching materials. The teaching materials were created by the company behind the performance.
The hetpaleis' educational team also makes exploratory (Dutch) teaching material for every hetpaleis production, called 'spot'. They're available from the day of the premiere. A spot contains a lot of additional information: interviews with the creators, drama and visual assignments, music fragments, short videos, etc. Whether you’re attending the performance with your class, friends or family, there’s lots for you to learn and enjoy. Spot-lights on!
