Two neighbours.
Two grumpy, bored, lonely figures.
Almost shadows of their former selves. Their days string together like a chain without lustre.
They rarely laugh; they merely sigh.
They grumble as they listen to the tick-tock of the clock.
There is no music and little light.
And this is how it has always been.
But then.
A strange spark, an awkward gesture, something unexpected. Colour creeps in very cautiously and, for the first time, DEBUREN feel what a difference a little light and a breath of fresh air can make.
A short story full of tenderness about closed hearts that begin to open and the power of kindness.
