Femke Heijens

Femke Heijens studied at the RITCS in Brussels and has performed with various theatre companies, including Buelens Pauline, Het Toneelhuis, Dood Paard, JAN, Villanella, Theater Zuidpool, Compagnie Barbarie and Ontroerend Goed. She also performed in Germany in Maria Stuart, directed by Luk Perceval at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. That production was awarded the Friedrich-Luft-Preis. She directed the production Dit is alles in hetpaleis, which was selected for Het Theaterfestival. With her company Eisbar*, she created productions such as It’s all about me, me, me, Behind the jolly roll down shutter where people like each other and A brave new jungle.
On screen, Femke has appeared in series such as Callboys, Nonkels, Hawa and Adam, and in the film Het smelt (As it melts) by Veerle Baetens.
