The ultimate adult has it all figured out, understands how everything works and has an answer ready for every question, pays bills and insurance, can assess risks and handles responsibilities well. On the outside you can’t tell, but inside this adult is thinking about stuffing themselves with paprika crisps, gaming all day in their pyjamas and riding safely on the back of Mum’s bike.
After Niet echt, wel waar (an ode to theatre), Onzin voor gevorderden (an ode to science) and Alles wat je moet weten (an ode to adolescence), Fernand’s new show zooms in on how young people view adults – and vice versa. Are adults really adults? Or do they just pretend to be adults at work? And what does it mean to suddenly have to ‘behave’ when the child inside you is still jumping around wildly?
