Homesickness. It suddenly rises up in you, when you’re lying in bed, far from home. Because you miss your room, the smell of home, or that one cuddly toy you forgot to pack in your suitcase (typical). What is homesickness, in fact? Is it something in your tummy? Or your heart? Or perhaps your head? And when does something feel like home?

Wonderzoekers is a playful podcast series tailored to children in which Sofie Palmers and Katrien Pierlet marvel at the inner workings of humans. Heimwee is a live episode and a peek behind the scenes of the podcast with microphones, music and DIY foley sounds. Together with Sofie and Katrien, you’ll go in search of tips on how to make homesickness feel better. They meet a house that misses its residents and wonder whether animals get homesick too. And what about migratory birds? And what if you have two homes, because your parents live apart or your family was born in another country?

In short, what does homesickness actually sound like? The podcast series will be launched in the autumn of 2026 and will be available to listen to on all podcast streaming platforms.
