Once, an old woman gave me a little boat in a bottle. That little boat had been stuck inside with glue. I say, ‘Thank you.’ And she says, ‘Never forget that sometimes there’s a sea inside an empty bottle.’ In Zwerflicht, the Fratelli seek a way out when innocence has vanished. Innocence that fades along with the light in the eyes. Because sometimes things happen that you, as a young person, have no control over, and what do you do then? How can you still see, in a dark room? How do you fix a crack in the head or glue back a body that’s broken?
