Wonderzoekers is a playful, kid-friendly podcast series in which Sofie Palmers & Katrien Pierlet marvel at the inner workings of the human mind. In addition to the podcast, they’re also turning it into a theater production. In this live episode, they—along with their guests—take you on a journey into the fascinating world of The Lie. An adventurous, scientific, and occasionally out-there quest to uncover the truth behind the lie.

Lying… we all do it sometimes. Sometimes to spare someone’s feelings, sometimes to get ourselves out of trouble. But did you know there are tricks for exposing a lie? Sofie and Katrien give you handy tips on how to lie better and explore whether a well-told lie can be just as powerful as the truth.

In addition to the story of The Lie, you’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look. In this show, you’ll actually see them recording a podcast live: with microphones, live music, and artisanal foley sounds. After all, what does a professional liar sound like? And what does sneaking a taste of candy at the supermarket or telling a white lie sound like? Katrien and Sofie pull out all the stops—literally—to create that one perfect sound. And sometimes, you can just close your eyes and listen.

Sofie Palmers (SKaGeN, fABULEUS, …) and Katrien Pierlet (Studio Orka, Ultima Thule, …) have both made their mark in the theater world. Their love of storytelling took them from the stage to the world of audio. That’s how they created the mini-series “Radio Fiona.” Now they’re joining forces in Wonderzoekers, a podcast where science, philosophy, and fantasy come together.
