Actor and theatre-maker Armin Mola has travelled to various corners of our country in recent years with his hit show I love (and hate) you, Iran. Along the way, thanks to his many encounters and conversations, Armin gathered a wealth of information about local culture.
In I love (and hate) you, Belgium, he sketches out in a humorous and critical way what, for him, makes Belgium Belgium. Armin slips into the skin of a range of characters with different world views and experiences. Freestyling with voice, language and accents, he weaves his personal story with social and political questions around nationality and identity.
I love (and hate) you, Belgium has room for the anger, the cold, the obstacles and the rain, but also for the great love for language, its accents, juiciness and tongue-twisters. Armed with nothing but words, Armin Mola wins over the whole country.
